“Nice cabin” We enjoyed our stay. Great location and close to attractions. Wifi would have made the kids happy but overall they had a great time too. Love the personalized rocks on the porch from prior tenants. We enjoyed searching for the perfect rock to add to the collection.

“We loved every minute of our stay.” This cabin is just beautiful! We spent a week here. Mornings found us on the front porch enjoying the mountain air and the music of birds singing. It's a perfect location for just relaxing, bird watching or to set out on mountain adventures! Mingo Falls is nearby and the stunning view will have you wanting to stay for hours! Tom Branch, Juney Whank, Soco and Meigs falls are also nearby and all beautiful! We had several meals at the cabin and found all the pots, pans, utensils and table settings needed. It's a short drive to many restaurants and we located a Ruth's Chris restaurant on the Cherokee Indian Casino grounds for a special birthday celebration. I would highly recommend the Climbing Bear Creekside Cabin for anyone wanting to have an unforgettable mountain vacation!

“Absolutely loved the cabin” We loved our stay at this cabin. Me, my wife and our dog spent our days hiking in the beautiful surrounding mountains and our nights were spent in the jacuzzi under the stars and fireflies. The cabin is gorgeous and provided everything we could've hoped for. We loved early morning coffee on the porch watching the mist on the mountains and enjoying the quiet. Scott was very accommodating and we would highly recommend this cabin and hope to return some day. We had an amazing stay.

“Amazing view and utter seclusion” A bunch of friends and I headed up to Water Rock to celebrate Labor Day weekend together and we couldn't have wanted any more out of a cabin. Plenty of comfortable sleeping space, very affordable. The views from the porch and the rest of the property were unreal. You could see clear to the Smoky Mountain National Park and there wasn't another human in sight. The wood fired hot tub was rustic and a fun and unique experience for us. And much to our surprise it worked fantastically (we were skeptical). The cabin is out of the way but definitely not too far from activities. We very easily split up into two groups, one who went to the National Park and another who went white water rafting near Bryson City. The casino is very close if gambling is your thing, and the Food Lion in Cherokee provided us with all our food needs. The road leading up to the cabin is a bit scary at night, but the directions provided were spot on. I would highly recommend getting there during daylight hours. We had a blast playing music, grilling, and just relaxing for a long weekend. Highly recommended.

“Cozy” For newlyweds this cabin is very quaint and cozy. The log burning fire place is a very nice touch as well. I did not care for the placement of the hot tub. In the winter, it's too cold to have to get out of and walk up several stairs to get back inside. The only other suggestion I would make is to replace the mattress for a more comfortable one. It was very firm.

“Great Stay” What a Gem of a place! Mrs. Linda was as hospitable and welcoming as any property owner could ever be! Myself and two children (Ages 7 & 5) couldn't bring ourselves to leave the Eco Cabin as it was full of surprises to explore.. We just enjoyed the simplicity and stillness that the mountains have to offer and had a great mountain bike day at Tsali State Park which is just right around the corner.. Thank You Linda for a wonderful stay and we will be back soon!

“The perfect getaway location!” I cannot say enough nice things about this rental property- from the first email contact to the last, the Millers were outstanding with communication. The property offers a fantastic view of the valley that hypnotizes- before you know it, you've sat on the porch rocking the afternoon away. The cabin itself had everything you could ask for and more- just bring the food and you're good to go. The kitchen was well equipped with cooking utensils & I was able to cook two nights/one morning there without needing a certain pot, pan, or spatula. The living room was cosy and there was enough t.v. channel variety to keep my teenage boys occupied during the short rainy period. The cabin was centrally located and we visited a mine, movie theater, grocery store, arcade, and several restaurants in the area all with in 20-30 minutes, many much less. I plan on making a return trip as soon as I can!

“Perfect getaway” We had a wonderful week. The location is perfect. We were able to venture all around the area during the days because it's centrally located. It was easy to get to Bryson, Cherokee, Sky Valley, Hayesville, Murphy, Hiawassee, Mountain city, etc. The home is nicely stocked and comfortable. The owner, Mr. Hurst is easy to get in touch with and is very nice. We loved the eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy for breakfast along with the pizza for dinner. Made it a great start to our vacation.

“Great summer getaway!” We had an amazing time in Maggie Valley! The house was very, very clean and perfectly decorated for a mountain cabin. The beds were extra comfy, and hearing the creek from the porch was so relaxing! It was a haul to get to this cabin up some long country roads, but it's well worth it for the privacy. We put the grill to good use! Can't wait to go back!

“comfortable and cozy” The cabin was neat and clean upon our arrival. It looked just like the pictures posted on-line. We had a great and interesting stay, with two days of high winds and power outages on our last day. But we had hot water and a cozy fireplace for our comfort. The neighbor's were very thoughtful and offered assistance during the power outage. A couple of recommendations would be to add a cutting board in the kitchen and instructions on the operation of the TV.

“Fox Creek Waterside Cabin” We loved the cabin - especially with everything being on one floor. It was perfect for three people. The cabin is in good condition, was well equipped and fairly clean. One issue that we had was with roaches. The only suggestion I would have - and our only disappointment - was that there are some windows without screens so we were unable to partially open the bedroom window at night to be able to hear the creek. A screen on the back door would also be great for the same reason - being able to listen to the creek.

“One of the better ones we've ever visited.” Top notch furniture, nice views, extra amenities. One suggestion, I would put your early riser in the loft bedroom because the sun hits that first thing in the morning. I tried with several GPS maps to find the cabin but none of them had the last street, including Google maps however Google does list the cabin as "Smoky Mountain Dawn". The wireless Internet is DSL, and a couple of times it needed to be turned off and back on. These are just a few things to mention in an otherwise great cabin.

About Cherokee, North Carolina
This was the ancestral homeland of the Cherokee Indians, until they were driven out by the US government during the infamous Trail of Tears. Cherokee became ‘white man’s’ land for a time until Will Thomas handed 56,000 acres of the 135,000 square acres of it back in the late 1800s.
The descendants of around 1000 Cherokee Indians who escaped the clearances by hiding in the nearby mountains, can once again hold the Cherokee flag high in this north-western part of North Carolina. Today, the land is held in trust and you’ll find many signposts in the Qualla Boundary area written in Cherokee.
The Cherokee Indian tribe also own the huge Harrah’s casino complex and several hotels and restaurants in the area.
Outdoor types will love the fact the town is less than half an hour’s drive away from excellent hiking, swimming and trout fishing in the Smoky Mountains.
What to do in Cherokee, North Carolina
Go back in time to the late 18th century at the interactive Oconaluftee Indian Village. There you’ll find genuine Cherokee people weaving baskets, sculpting canoes and engaging in tribal dances (such as the Green Corn or Bear numbers).
You might also be lucky enough to encounter some roaming Elk. It’s a living history lesson you won’t want to miss out on.
Visit at the end of the March and celebrate 'The Ramp'. This wild vegetable has its own annual get-together, known as the Rainbows & Ramps Festival where you can taste variations of it, along with trout and barbecue. There’s also music and a big BBQ cook-off.
There’s gold in them thar’ hills – yes, they’re talking about the Smoky Mountains. The Gold and Ruby Mines there offer visitors the chance to pan for gold and precious stones, which you can then have fashioned into bespoke jewelry. Top travel tips for Cherokee, North Carolina
Don’t mention tipis – if you do, you’ll be talking about the wrong Indian tribe. It was only western Native Americans who lived in these. The Cherokee people lived in houses made of woven grass and mud.
The town can only be accessed via steep mountain roads, so you’ll need some kind of vehicle or bike to get there. Similarly, if you don’t have your own car you’ll need to hire a taxi to travel around the town.
It’s not necessary—and generally good manners—to tip the Indian traditional dancers and storytellers in town. Many won’t charge, but they’re happy to take donations.
