“Carib Isles Dance Group” I booked this apt for the location to Marcus Garvey Park for the dance group of 6 and I have to say that we all had a great time. Milton is a great host. I know he was skeptical about the group but I think we resolved that. Our guest was able to visit and we had easy access to transportation and shopping. The stairs was a bit but we look at it as great exercise after all that good food we ate. I am looking forward to next year's caribbean festival and hope to be able to book the same place.

“Great apartment and location!” As a first time traveler to New York, we couldn't have asked for a better apartment; the rooms were nice and breezy, the location incredible and the atmosphere amazing. Kira was an excellent, polite host who made us feel very welcome. The apartment would comfortably sleep four, with plenty of room, and the apartment itself was surprisingly quiet given the bustling neighborhood below. The one downside was the climb up the numerous flights of stairs, but this was a minor flaw in what was otherwise superb accomodation. I would highl recommend this property, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if we stayed there again in future.

NYC 30 min by Subway, Brooklyn, Brighton Beach 2

Brooklyn apartment

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Will certainly be back!” I was travelling to New York with another youth worker and a young person we were taking on a volunteering experience and therefore needed a two room apartment so the young person could have their own room. I wanted to be out of Manhattan but nearby. This apartment was perfect! In a wonderfully diverse neighbourhood (that served some awesome food!) but only 30 minutes on the train into the city. Dimitry the owner couldnt have been more helpful and lovely, picking us up at the airport and helping us settle into the apartment. It looks exactly like the photos and is very clean. We had the most wonderful time and I would recommend it for small family units and small groups of friends. We felt very safe, even walking back from the train at midnight. Nearby Coney Island is very charming and well worth a walk down the boardwalk if you're feeling sprightly. A wonderful stay. Will be going back.

“Renter” Very good location. Just the right size for a couple looking for a quiet getaway from it all. Large number of wineries, cidery, craft brewers, available. A short drive to Ithaca where I recommend the Boat Yard Grill for dining. Pet friendly was a big plus. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. Only drawback was wet firewood made it difficult to start a fire in the fireplace. A wood rack with a tarp would help. Would definitely recommend.

“Fantastic!” We stayed at this property for July 4-6, 2014. Great experience! We decided we wanted to experience a July 4th Celebration as we are from Canada. It was a great location, right over the bridge is Sylvan Beach where there is an amusement park, close enough to experience the fun, not close enough to hear the noice!! Tons of fireworks over the entire weekend! There is a great little pizza place right over the bridge as well. We had booked a hotel in syracuse for the weekend, but decided last minute that we would rather have a cottage where we can all hang out (there was 8 of us) instead of just returning to our rooms for the rest of the night. It was only 30 minutes from Syracuse, and 39 minutes from the Rosamond Gifford Zoo. This was a great location for us, the neighbours are very friendly and the house was stocked with everything we needed!

A Garden in Chelsea

New York City studio

Studio / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Perfect Place in Manhatten” I reluctantly give a Garden in Chelsea a rave review. My reluctance is pure selfishness. If I tell you how great it is, it will only become more difficult to book it for myself. Seriously, great owners, beautiful space, perfect location. Book it if you can.

“Felt like home... In a good way.” I rented this apartment on marathon weekend due to its close proximity to the finish. It was clean and the views of the fall colors were lovely. It was extremely convenient to the subway, and the neighborhood offered everything we could possibly want. The apartment itself contains books and access to all amenities. I felt like I was staying at a friend's home. The price was very reasonable, and Suzanne was the perfect host. I left a laptop cord accidentally, and she went to the trouble to send it to me. I highly recommend this rental. Thanks Suzanne.

“Amazing apartment” A total of 8 of us stayed at this apartment. We are university students and not only was it really affordable but it was much better than we expected. The apartment was very clean and there is plenty of space, both for socialising and sleeping. The apartment is located very close to various subway stations and this makes it really easy to travel, around 10 or 15 minutes to Times Square. I would definitely recommend staying here and look forward to returning in the future!

About New York

The state of New York really runs the whole spectrum, from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan to the silent, unspoiled wilderness of Long Island and the upstate areas. The Adirondack Mountains run through the center of the state, offering endless opportunities to hike, fish and camp during your vacation, while majestic Niagara Falls highlights the state's western end. Regardless of where you choose to visit, New York is a vibrant, diverse state with much to offer.

Top highlights of the Empire State include:

  • New York City: The Big Apple has it all, from the Statue of Liberty and Wall Street to Central Park and the Empire State Building. You could spend your entire trip exploring New York museums and still not even scratch the surface of all there is to see. One day in the city and you'll see why people say, "I love New York!"
  • Niagara Falls: One of North America's natural icons, Niagara Falls is a must-see if you're in upstate New York. It's also a short drive from Buffalo, allowing you to head into the city for some authentic chicken wings and to check out some of the elite art and architecture.
  • Long Island: Home to the Hamptons, Montauk and huge expanses of unspoiled greenery, Long Island is a quiet respite east of New York City and offers the best of both urban and natural spaces. Many New York cruises also leave from Long Island ports, making it an excellent place to start an extended vacation in the Atlantic region.
  • Albany: The state's capital city has the feel of a much smaller town despite its metropolitan size. Its upstate location makes it the perfect base for exploring the Empire State's great outdoors, too.
  • The Adirondack Mountains: If you want to commune with nature, head into the Adirondacks to fish, hike, hunt or just take in the breathtaking scenery or tree-topped peaks extending into the sky.

Take the guesswork out of renting hotels by choosing vacation rentals in the city, such as condos and extended-stay apartment rentals. If you're on Long Island or upstate, you can also choose from a wide range of summer rentals, should you choose to while away the warm weather in New York.

New York is also an excellent base for exploring more of New England, particularly in the fall. If you're in the Niagara Falls-Buffalo area, you're just a hop, skip and jump away from Canada, too. Viewing the Falls from the Canadian side is highly recommended if you have the chance.

Everyone is ready to go back...

Wonderful cottage that fit our entire family and our son's aides. Well cared for. So many toys, so much to do! Treated like family. Friendly, helpful, and caring owners. We have been on three family vacations, and everyone loved this place the best, and this is where they want to stay next year...We rented a pontoon boat, which was great, and we brought our wave runner. The lake is crystal clear. The dock is great for boat and wave runner launching, but also fun for fishing. The only issue that we found was that most of the town stores open at 10:00AM and close by 5:30PM, so it put a damper on our shopping time.see more
3 Bedroom, 1 Bath Home on Double lot
Highly recommended

This was an excellent rental. The home was clean, very comfortable and well stocked with towels and necessities. The house is within walking distance to Sylvan beach OR if you prefer a more quiet simple experience you can walk to the end of the road, across the park and place your chairs (or floats) in the water and just relax. We will definitely be renting from the owners againsee more

Perfect location and an easy walk to the trains

Apartment was very clean and had beautiful art and high ceilings. Exceptionally quiet for such an active area. Fantastic bars and restaurants right outside the lobby door. We had a fantastic time and Kira is a great host. If you want to experience all that NYC has to offer, this is the perfect launching spot.see more
