Maine Ocean Front 2 Bedroom Cottage

Tenants Harbor cottage

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Wonderful memories!!” We found the Hupper's cottage by chance in Down East Magazine 8 years ago after a bed and breakfast had closed. We had been coming to Tenant's Harbor for years and couldn't believe our luck in being able to stay right on the water! The cottage is very clean and complete with all cooking facilities, just like home. It brings back memories of a family cottage that I used to visit when I was a child. We can get up in the morning and see either high or low tide, fog or sunshine, in summer it has become our home away from home. Loads of wonderful restaurants, close to Rockland and Camden...

Cedar Log Cabin in Boothbay Harbor, Maine

Boothbay Harbor log cabin

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 5

“The best log cabin you would ever want to stay in.” We adored our stay in this log cabin. It was truly comfortable. Much to our liking, was the living and kitchen area with its high ceilings. (The kitchen was well-equipped with the necessary dishes, pots and pans and a variety of coffee makers.) The loft had both a sleeping and sitting area, which was greatly appreciated by all our visitors as were also the other two bedrooms. The cabin is well-decorated (nautical style and colors), well-lighted and had the necessary gas stove, electric heaters, air-conditioning and ceiling fans for whatever kind of weather was on hand during our stay. We especially liked the screened-in porch where we took our morning coffee and often had dinner out there, too. The cabin was within walking distance of the village with its shops and restaurants. We loved walking down to Barrett Park, which was only 5 minutes away. Lovely view. The service was impeccable. Mrs. Taylor saw to everything and kept in touch regularly to see if all was fine. Even the cleaning lady saw to all our needs. We have rented many cottages in the past, but have never liked one of them as much as we have liked this one, and I would never hesitate to rent it again. Thank you Yuko and Dave Taylor for all your efforts in making our stay so special.

About Maine

Maine, the easternmost state in the U.S.A., is busting with adventure despite its quiet reputation. With frothy Atlantic coast lines, silent mountains and historic cities like Portland, Maine is as much a nature enthusiast's playground as it is an essential part of America's cultural fabric. Whether you want sand between your toes or crisp mountain air in your lungs, Maine is the place to go. Despite the beauty of its landscape, one of Maine's biggest attractions is its food. Luscious lobsters, beautiful blueberries and the sweetest maple syrup around are just a few of the state's divine treats.

Some of the activities, destinations and attractions to enjoy in Maine include:

  • Skiing: Winter in Maine offers some of the best skiing in the northeast. Sunday River is a large yet quiet mountain featuring powdery slopes and glistening tree-lined runs. After a day on the slopes, head back to your vacation rental or cabin to relax and forget your worries.
  • Acadia National Park: The best-known of the National Parks in Maine, Acadia National Park spans the rugged, majestic coastline and offers some of the most scenic and tranquil Maine camping sites you'll find.
  • Portland: The state's largest city is home to a wide range of historic sites, quaint architecture, friendly folks and unique eateries. It is an excellent place to seek a summer rental, as Portland's population swells with vacationers during the summer, transforming it into a lively and vivacious coastal city.
  • Mackworth Island: If you're seeking romantic getaways in Maine, Mackworth Island is a must-see; this bird sanctuary is especially splendorous in autumn, when the foliage has blossomed and flocks of birds are heading south for the winter.
  • Appalachian National Scenic Trail: Ideal for hiking or just casually exploring, this pristine trail offers visitors a breathtaking look at the rolling, unspoiled wilderness that still dominates most of the state's area.

With world-class skiing, excellent beaches and spectacular New England fall foliage, any time is a good time to visit Maine. Warm-weather visits are ideal if you want to check out some of the state's famous lighthouses and offshore islands.

Consider a vacation rental such as a condo, if you're in the city, or a cabin, if you're in the woods, as an alternative to a regular hotel. These options are more convenient and less crowded than hotels. Cabins put you right in the heart of the state's beautiful natural wonderlands, and summer rentals in the city offer spectacular coastal views.

To explore the region further, you can head north into the Canadian provinces of Quebec, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. New Hampshire and its historic sites and resplendent charms lies to the south of the state, and is also an excellent place to take in beautiful natural scenery and famous historic sites at a relaxed pace.

Stonewall House
Awesome house in Bar Harbor

We had such a wonderful stay. The house is in a great location- close to downtown Bar Harbor but also right next to the lobster shacks, a bakery, and Sweet Pea’s cafe. The house was spotless and there was plenty of room for several families. Thank you so much for being such great hosts, Greg and Karen!see more
Cozy 3 BR Cottage On Hills Beach - Available from July 17 to July 24.
Perfect family-friendly beach cottage

The location is fantastic with the beach right there. Quiet family based beach community close by to area attractions. Cozy and fully equipped cottage with plenty of water activity toys (paddle board, kayak, row boat) to have some fun. Hosts Tom and Jane were super helpful - we'll definitely visit again!see more
Maine Ocean Front 2 Bedroom Cottage
Perfect!

This cottage hosted by Craig and Jill Hupper was the perfect place to spend our time in Maine. The cottage was great for the two of us, but could easily fit a family of four comfortably. It was appointed extremely well with everything needed for our stay. Super clean and well maintained grounds. The view and sunsets were awesome. Morning coffee on the dock and afternoon cocktails on the lawn. There are a couple of general stores and restaurants nearby, and the ferry to Monhegan Island is a few minutes down the road. (Take the early boat to have plenty of time to really see the Island). This cottage really became home to us. we were sad to leave, but our stay was wonderful and we hope to return another time. Thank you Craig and Jill.see more
Village Townhouse #7 - updated comfort in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor
Great condo and value.

Perfect location for all in-town restaurants and attractions. Everything is walking distance. Easy to escape the traffic for accessing Acadia and Mount Desert Island. Condo is fully functional with plenty of space. Appliances are all new or close to new. Great having both full and half baths. There is a trade off between easy access and noise. Mt. Desert St./Rte. 3 is a heavily used road and there is a lot of activity day and night. Where the condo is on the second/third floors, this is reduced a bit and we didn't find it to be too disconcerting. Will definitely stay in this condo again if available for our dates.see more
"Tugwassa" On Down East Jones Pond- poet's cottage
Amazing view and old-fashioned charm

The location at the entry point to the peninsula was just minutes away from the quieter part of Acadia and the spectacular Schoodic Point, but was also very convenient to Route 1 for excursions. While we planned many of those, it was lovely to spend time at the cottage enjoying a placid and stunning view of the pond, or to take the canoe or kayaks out for a paddle. The cottage was well adorned with everything we needed and many extras including books on the history of the area, poems and artwork by the artists/poets who lived there and were inspired by the nature and beauty of the place. The owner Anne was an amazing host and made us feel welcome from before we even arrived. The cottage has about 100 years worth of special memories within its walls, vintage elements, and the perfect place for connecting with what really matters.see more
Scenic White Rocks Cottage on the Maine Coast
An absolute perfect place for a quiet, peaceful vacation.

White Rocks Cottage was the most ideal, restful vacation we have ever had. Mark and Gerry kept the antique charm of a quintessential turn-of -the-century Maine cottage while up-dating it for contemporary comfort. And they furnished it with everything you might need to make your stay easy and fun. Located on a granite out crop, the cottage sits right on the water and faces west. Watching sunsets from the porch caps off each day when the weather is fine. The cottage comes with a pass to Reid State Park which is close by. On the ocean, if offers an extensive piece of the Maine coast line with two beautiful crescent sand beaches and massive rock formations.. Don't miss a walk through the magical woods on the park's Little River Trail.see more
